Tutoring FAQ for Learning Tree Tutors
Is Tutoring the Right Solution for Me?
Tutoring FAQ – the first question is usually “Why is tutoring the right choice”? Well, there could be many reasons. First, individual instruction and personalized learning is the best way to learn. In addition, tutoring is available online or in-home. Next, students learn at their own pace, at convenient times, and with the best teachers. Finally – and most importantly – everyone learns differently. Because of this, we, therefore, tailor lessons to fit the individual student. Our customized program considers the individual student’s strengths and weaknesses, skills, needs, and interests. Above all, we focus on what a student needed is needed to achieve learning goals. Tutoring FAQ and Company Policies
Tutoring for children can be at home, but a parent or responsible adult should be at home when a child is being tutored. We can also meet parents and children at the local library or another convenient location.
Ensure that a parent or a responsible adult is at home when we tutor your child in-home. Tutors are there to teach and cant take on responsibility for childcare. or property. Teenagers have the option of meeting tutors at a library or school location.
When you start, book regular class days/dates with the Learning Tree Tutors manager. Once you have paid credit hours, you can arrange many minor changes, such as a change in arrival time, time changes, additional lessons, etc., with your tutor directly.
Please give adequate notice to your tutor if you need to cancel any scheduled session, normally a minimum of 24 hours before the session—telephone rather than email when reporting any last-minute problem only 24 to 36 hours ahead. In case of an emergency, please call the tutor or management first thing in the morning so that we know we must cancel the session.* Note: there is a 1-hour late cancellation charge for a no-show or any cancellation without adequate notice.*
We will arrange another teacher for you if there is not a good fit. The first 1 or 2 sessions are considered a trial to see if student and tutor develop rapport, but we will consider appropriate changes after that.
Please use your hours within 12 months of purchase. Please consult with us if there are special circumstances where this is a problem.
The preferred way to send payment is to send an INTERAC e-payment through your online banking. Alternatively, you can make payments online by PayPal or by credit card (through a PayPal link we can send you). Make your payment at least 24 hours before your first session: no cash or cheque payments.
If you are not completely satisfied after 1 or 2 sessions, a client may ask for a refund for any unused tutoring hours within 30 days from the date of purchase. (Note, however, that we first recommend that you try a different tutor first before stopping tutoring altogether).
For online tutoring, your location does not matter. For in-home tutoring, we cover most neighbourhoods in central and mid-town Toronto. If you live anywhere in the city – contact us to see if we have a suitable tutor available for the subject and the times you need.
